Endurance Session

Yesterday I did 1 hour of yoga in the morning and intended to run 5km as per my program in the evening however best laid plans went awry so I postponed the run till today.

This morning I did 1 hour of yoga then ran 4.2k before training at Primal.  I was meant to run 5k but didn't get away from work in time so had to cut the run short in order to be back at the Primal den in time for the session.  I ran around and through Sydney Park so it wasn't completely flat.

Primal session tonight was an endurance session.  It was brutal!

In the time I managed three rounds (just)
50 star jumps
40 squats (10/5/5kg)
15 high wall throws with 3kg medicine ball (was supposed to be 30 kettle bell swings but my back was too sore tonight)
20 crank it pull ups
10 burpees

The pull-ups were the killer.  I struggled to so more than 5 in a row without having to rest and towards the end of the third set I was having to rest after each one.

Then we did 2 rounds of a circuit with 45secs at each station:

  • rowing
  • making waves with a giant rope (not sure what that exercise is called!)
  • lunges with 10kg
  • high wall throws with 3kg medicine ball
Stretch and foam roller

Great session although I hate how those really tough sessions make me really emo.  I've spent the last 2 hours on the verge of tears.  What's with that?
