Cross training and commuting

Thursday 26/04/2012
AM - I had to drop the work vehicle back at work and get home in time to go to the airport in my own vehicle to pick up my friends so I drove to work and ran/walked home.

The plan was to run but my legs didn't want to play nicely.  I was surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly?) fatigued in the legs after Wednesday's Wazza Workout.  I started to give myself a hard time about it but quickly realised that it wasn't a big deal.  So I had to take some walk breaks?  So what?  Some days are like that.  I'll be running my first 10k race in a very long time on Sunday so perhaps taking it a bit easier isn't such a bad thing?

It's a fine line between acceptance and allowing myself to give in to the lazy voice; the one that would rather stay in bed thank-you-very-much.  The voice which encourages me to mediocrity and not achieving my potential.  I struggle to know what is sensible and what is slack.

PM - pilates.  Success with single leg side planks!  Hurrah!  In the past, picking up the top leg would result in me folding in the middle and collapsing in a pile of legs and arms.  I notice I'm also getting stronger in the arms.  I still can't do full press-ups but I can do single arm pilates style side pressups which I've struggled to so before. .

We do them slightly differently but you get the picture.

Friday - @work yoga session.  Again noticed I'm much stronger in the core and arms than previously.  Legs were a bit wobbly but I guess they are still fatigued.
